Svolt Energy expects its Thailand plant to supply more than 20,000 battery packs to local customers this year.

FinDreams said it will offer safer, more reliable batteries for electric two-wheelers, after a recent deadly accident revived concerns about the safety of electric two-wheeler batteries.

"Against the backdrop of increasingly severe global climate change, we must take proactive measures to reduce carbon emissions," FinDreams said.

Gotion plans to set up the institute with Hong Kong-listed Envision to conduct research on battery energy storage system technologies and business models.

As a comparison, CATL and BYD's shares in 2022 were 36.2 percent and 13.9 percent, respectively.

CATL's share of China's EV battery market increased by 4.93 percentage points in January from December, while BYD's share decreased by 4.37 percentage points.

FAW-FinDreams has a total planned capacity of 45 GWh, and will be able to provide blade batteries for nearly 600,000 vehicles when fully operational. Its initial production capacity is 15 GWh.

Pouch-type ternary power battery cells saw the biggest drop, falling 7.3 percent to $0.51 per Wh in January, TrendForce said.

Lithium producers including Ganfeng and Tianqi expect their net profits in 2023 to be much lower than in 2022, with the common reason being a sharp drop in lithium prices.

The regional headquarters are aimed at serving customers close to where they are and mark Eve Energy's transition to global operations, it said.
