- The new L03 SUV will expand Xpeng's Mona lineup, following the success of the M03 sedan.
- Xpeng is expected to launch the compact EV later this year to spur sales growth.

Xpeng is preparing to launch the first SUV (sport utility vehicle) under its Mona lineup, with the new L03 model appearing in a Chinese regulatory filing.
The electric SUV features a sporty fastback design consistent with the Mona family's visual identity, according to a filing published Thursday on the website of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The Mona L03 measures 4,650 or 4,672 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. It can accommodate five passengers.
The vehicle will be equipped with a drive motor supplied by Luxshare, delivering a peak power of 183 kilowatts and a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour.
The L03 is the second model in the Mona lineup, following the highly successful M03 sedan.
Launched in August 2024, the M03 quickly became Xpeng's best-selling model.
The electric sedan delivered 175,689 units throughout 2025, accounting for 40.91% of total deliveries, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The 2026 Mona M03, which hit the market earlier this month, starts at 119,800 yuan ($17,400), maintaining the same price as its predecessor.
The new L03 SUV is expected to be officially unveiled later in 2026 and will likely offer similar competitive pricing.
This will help Xpeng attract more mass-market buyers. The company delivered 27,415 vehicles in March, and while this marked a sharp rebound from the previous month, the figure was still down 17% from a year earlier.
The EV maker has been bundling advanced hardware with software to improve per-vehicle profit margins.
It recently introduced its self-developed Turing AI chip into the budget-friendly Mona M03.
CEO He Xiaopeng has signaled broader ambitions for the Mona series, with the company planning to bring various Mona products to Europe and other global markets in 2026.
