- The Sealion 08 is expected to join the Dynasty lineup' Datang SUV in further exploring the premium market.
- The new model is anticipated to feature BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast flash charging technology.

BYD will debut the Sealion 08, the new flagship model of its Ocean lineup, at the Beijing Auto Show later this month. The sport utility vehicle (SUV) is expected to join the Dynasty lineup' Datang SUV in further exploring the high-end market.
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker announced the plan on its social media accounts on Thursday, sharing images of a camouflaged Sealion 08.
BYD initially teased the model in December last year and shared new preview images in January.
The large SUV is expected to measure over 5 meters in length with a wheelbase exceeding 3 meters, likely offering a three-row seating layout to meet the travel needs of premium family consumers.
Its battery electric vehicle (BEV) version is anticipated to be equipped with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and will support the company's latest ultra-fast flash charging technology.
BYD unveiled these new technologies last month and has already launched multiple models featuring them.
There is currently no further official information regarding the Sealion 08. However, some local media reports suggest the model's pure electric range could reach 1,000 kilometers.
Early last month, BYD's premium sub-brand Denza launched the Z9GT, which is equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery and boasts a pure electric range of up to 1,036 kilometers.
The Sealion 08 SUV represents a significant move for the BYD brand as it pushes upmarket and attempts to reshape industry standards for premium NEVs.
Early last month, BYD's Dynasty lineup unveiled the Datang SUV, which features the latest second-generation Blade Battery and is equipped with megawatt-level flash charging.
The Datang is expected to officially hit the market in the first half of this year, primarily targeting the luxury auto segment priced above 400,000 yuan ($58,490).
