The vehicle is now equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system and features automatic tilt-down and memory functions for the rearview mirrors, which were among the most highly requested features by existing owners.

The peak motor power of the updated model has been upgraded from the previous 105 kilowatts (kW) to 120 kW, shortening the vehicle's 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time to 7.9 seconds.

Notably, older Firefly users will also be able to receive the motor power upgrade through an OTA software update.

Accompanying the new vehicle launch is the Aster 1.4.0 software update, which brings a more personalized cabin atmosphere and enhances the fun of in-car interactions.

The new system also supports screen casting for Nintendo Switch devices, achieving a seamless connection between the in-car system and gaming devices.

In terms of driving assistance, the new system adds a tracking reverse function that can record the driving route within 100 meters. This feature can assist the vehicle in reversing accurately under complex road conditions.

The release of the upgraded Firefly EV is part of an intensive product update cycle for Nio Inc and comes as the brand's first model approaches its one-year anniversary on the market.

The move comes as Nio's monthly deliveries show a significant improvement. The company delivered a total of 35,486 new vehicles in March, demonstrating strong sales momentum.

As Nio's pioneering brand for entering the international market, Firefly just reached the milestone of 50,000 cumulative deliveries at the end of last month.

Nio is also currently advancing the infrastructure construction of its fifth-generation battery swap stations network, which will be compatible with Firefly vehicles.

Just days ago on April 2, Nio launched the 2026 models of the Nio ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6, with unchanged starting prices but upgraded configurations.

Another sub-brand, Onvo, will launch the 2026 L90 SUV on April 21.

The intensive product launches are also aimed at preparing for the upcoming Beijing Auto Show at the end of this month, where these updated versions will receive intensive exposure, thereby increasing visibility.
