- Xiaomi has delivered over 7,000 units of the updated SU7 since March 23.
- The latest figure implies Xiaomi secured about 10,000 new locked-in orders over the past 10 days.

Locked-in orders for Xiaomi's new generation SU7 electric sedan have exceeded 40,000 units, as the Beijing-based tech giant seeks to further consolidate its position in the fiercely competitive EV market.
Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, revealed the sales milestone during a live-stream event on Thursday.
The three-and-a-half-hour live-stream showcased the tear-down process of the new model, aiming to demonstrate the safety of the new generation SU7 to consumers.
The upgraded sedan was officially launched on March 19 and began its first deliveries just four days later on March 23, when locked-in orders had surpassed 30,000 units.
Within nine days of initiating deliveries, cumulative deliveries of the model have already exceeded 7,000 units.
The delivery speed of the new generation SU7 set a record, and the company achieved delivery upon launch, Lei said during the live-stream.
Xiaomi's EV unit, Xiaomi EV, announced on April 1 that its total deliveries in March exceeded 20,000 units, without mentioning the exact figure.
The phrasing implies that its overall monthly deliveries remained below 30,000 units, as the updated SU7 had just started deliveries.
The starting price for the standard version of the new generation SU7 is set at 219,900 yuan ($31,960), a marginal increase from the first-generation model, continuing to put pressure on rivals like Tesla.
Among the first batch of owners of the new generation SU7, female users accounted for 34 percent, and 60% to 70% of buyers purchased it as an additional or replacement vehicle, Lei said.
Furthermore, up to 70% of new users did not consider comparing it with other auto brands and directly chose the upgraded model.
Lei highlighted the core hardware and safety upgrades of the new model during the livestream, including hardcore physical protection and battery thermal safety capabilities.
The new generation SU7 features a 90.3% proportion of high-strength steel and aluminum alloy, designed to provide superior body safety performance for occupants.
To achieve rapid delivery, Xiaomi EV started production preparations in advance before the official launch of the new generation SU7, producing a batch of ready-to-deliver vehicles.
The tech giant has set its full-year vehicle delivery target for 2026 at an ambitious 550,000 units.
The company launched the first-generation SU7, its debut model, on March 28, 2024.
Xiaomi delivered 139,471 vehicles in 2024 and 411,837 vehicles in 2025.
