Onvo saw cumulative deliveries of its L90 large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) reach 50,000 units, marking a significant milestone for the Nio Inc sub-brand.
Onvo announced the milestone on Friday, adding that it is scheduled to officially launch the 2026 L90 on April 21.
The updated model will add a new version equipped with LiDAR, which will be sold alongside the pure-vision variant to offer a wider range of choices.
Onvo also plans a major system upgrade for the delivered pure-vision models to enhance their assisted driving capabilities.
The brand did not mention further details about the 2026 L90. Onvo's head of product, Eric Yu, said on Weibo earlier this week that the cost of the updated L90 has increased by about 10,000 yuan ($1,450) due to rising prices of components such as high-performance memory recently.
The currently L90 is priced from 265,800 yuan to 299,800 yuan.
The latest delivery milestone comes as Onvo attempts to maintain its recovery momentum in a fiercely competitive market.
In March, Onvo delivered a total of 6,877 new cars. Of those, the L90 contributed 3,360 deliveries.
From the start of deliveries last August through the end of March, cumulative deliveries of the Onvo L90 had reached 49,527 units.
Nio Inc's overall deliveries also grew significantly last month, with 35,486 vehicles delivered in March, pushing its first-quarter total deliveries past its previous guidance range.
Other models from Nio Inc have also recently reached key delivery milestones.
The third-generation ES8 from the Nio main brand hit the 90,000-delivery mark earlier today, taking 195 days to do so.
Nio's boutique compact car brand Firefly reached the 50,000-delivery milestone late last month, about 11 months after its currently only model was launched.
Nio is preparing to enter an intensive phase of new product launches. Besides the 2026 Onvo L90, the all-new five-seat Onvo L80 SUV is also set to hit the market soon.
The Nio main brand will hold a technology launch event for the new flagship ES9 SUV on April 9. The official launch of the ES9 will be in May, with deliveries starting on June 1.
Firefly is scheduled to launch an updated version of its existing model on April 7.
