- The ES8 delivered 45,184 units in the first quarter, contributing 54.14 percent of Nio Inc's total deliveries during the same period.
- Nio is extending purchase incentives for the ES8 to maintain its sales momentum, and is preparing to launch a new flagship SUV model, the ES9, in the second quarter.

Nio Inc saw the 90,000th delivery of its third-generation ES8, marking another milestone for the large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle).
The company completed the delivery of the 90,000th new ES8 in Hefei, Anhui province on Friday, 195 days after deliveries began in September 2025.
This highlights the continued strong sales momentum of the premium electric SUV after the Chinese New Year holiday, and further consolidates its position in the premium pure-electric market.
The new ES8 completed 16,255 deliveries in March, topping the sales chart for models priced above 400,000 yuan ($58,200) in China for the third consecutive month, Nio said on April 1.
In the first quarter of this year, the ES8 delivered a total of 45,184 new cars, contributing 54.14 percent of Nio's total deliveries for the period.
The three-row pure-electric SUV, built on a 900-volt high-voltage architecture, starts at 406,800 yuan, making it one of the highest-priced models from a local Chinese automaker.
The commercial success of the model played a key role in driving Nio's recent historic financial turnaround, helping the EV maker achieve profitability for the first time in the fourth quarter of last year.
To maintain the sales momentum of the high-margin model, Nio extended its purchase incentives in April, retaining a limited-time purchase tax subsidy of 10,000 yuan.
The company also offers a low-interest financing plan that allows buyers to pay an initial down payment as low as 20 percent, and plans to launch a five-seat version of the third-generation ES8 in early July to attract more buyers.
The currently available third-generation ES8 offers six-seat and seven-seat options.
While boosting short-term sales, the Chinese automaker is preparing to enter an intensive new product launch phase in order to maintain overall growth in the highly competitive Chinese auto market.
Nio will launch the new flagship SUV model ES9 in the second quarter, with a technology launch event scheduled for April 9. It is expected to officially go on sale in May and begin deliveries on June 1.
The sub-brand Onvo will launch an updated version of its L90 large electric SUV later this month, while another sub-brand, Firefly, will launch an updated version of its sole current model on April 7.
Yesterday, the Nio main brand rolled out its updated "5566" lineup — the 2026 ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6.
