The 2026 Beijing Auto Show (Auto China 2026) has started accepting media registration for its upcoming event, which will be held from April 24 to May 3, 2026.

Journalists must submit their applications online via the official website (autochinashow.org) or the WeChat platform. On-site registration will not be allowed, the event's organizers said in a statement on Thursday.

Media credentials will be strictly bound to personal identification documents for security purposes. Attendees must present their ID cards and approval receipts to gain entry, the organizers added.

The online registration window will remain open until 12 pm on April 25, 2026. April 24 and 25 are designated as press days, exclusively hosting domestic and foreign journalists.

The 2026 Beijing Auto Show will use all exhibition halls of the China International Exhibition Center Shunyi New Venue and the Capital International Exhibition Convention Center (CIECC).

Including outdoor exhibition areas, the total exhibition space will reach a record 380,000 square meters, the event's organizers previously said.

CIECC is a newly completed facility that went into operation in February 2025. It offers nine halls and a total of 250,000 square meters of additional exhibition space.

The Beijing Auto Show, which began in 1990, alternates with a similarly sized event held in Shanghai. The upcoming showcase is expected to serve as a core window leading the transformation of the global auto industry.

During the previous Beijing Auto Show in 2024, a total of 117 models made their global debuts. That event attracted 892,000 visitors and 23,000 media personnel.

The general public can visit the massive auto exhibition from April 28 to May 3.

The production version of the two-seat Smart #2 mini EV will be launched within 2026.
