- The EREV version of the D19 features a large 80.3-kWh battery, offering a pure electric range of up to 500 kilometers.

Leapmotor will officially launch its flagship sport utility vehicle, the D19, on April 16, marking a crucial step in the company's 2026 product offensive.
The company announced the launch schedule on Weibo on Monday. The large SUV, expected to be priced at around 300,000 yuan ($43,410), is a key product for Leapmotor's push into the premium market and a major pillar for its annual sales target.
The D19 measures 5,252 millimeters in length, 1,995 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm, according to a previous regulatory filing.
Built on the new flagship D platform, the vehicle offers both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrains, as well as six- and seven-seat layouts, in an effort to cover a broader range of consumer needs.
Its EREV version is equipped with an 80.3-kWh battery and supports 800-volt fast charging, delivering a pure electric range of up to 500 kilometers.
The BEV variant adopts a 1,000-volt high-voltage architecture and features a 115-kWh battery, achieving a CLTC range of 720 kilometers to target the high-performance and long-range market.
The model is equipped with a tri-motor vector control system, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in the three-second level, according to Leapmotor.
The D19 is powered by dual Qualcomm 8797 chips, achieving a total computing power of 1,280 TOPS and supporting the VLA (Visual-Language-Action) large language model. This reflects the Chinese automaker's accelerated push to introduce high-computing solutions into mass-produced models.
The D19 made its debut in October 2025 and opened for pre-orders the following November, although pricing details were not disclosed. Customers paying a 999-yuan deposit can secure benefits such as priority production scheduling.
Leapmotor just launched the lower-priced A10 SUV last week, bringing LiDAR technology to the sub-100,000-yuan market and demonstrating a product strategy that spans multiple price bands.
With the D19 set to be released on April 16, the company's 2026 product matrix will be further fleshed out, providing support for its push toward higher sales volumes.
Four new models, including the D19, are expected to contribute about 60% of sales in 2026 to support the full-year target of 1 million deliveries, company management said at an earnings call earlier this month.
The impending launch of the D19 comes on the eve of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, a biennial event that will kick off on April 24 and run through May 3.
