Nio Inc's boutique compact car brand Firefly reached its 50,000th delivery milestone 11 months after the launch of its sole existing model, the brand announced Sunday.
This indicates Firefly has delivered 5,122 vehicles so far this month, considering its cumulative deliveries stood at 44,878 units at the end of February, according to CnEVPost calculations.
The milestone arrives as the brand seeks to restore growth momentum following a sluggish start to the year, having delivered just 2,657 cars in February.
Impacted by the traditional slow sales season in early 2026, the figure represented a 5.34% drop from January, marking the brand's second consecutive month of sequential delivery declines.
To boost visibility and stimulate recently soft market demand, Firefly launched a new special edition EV earlier this month, limited to just 166 units.
The official price for the special edition model is 137,800 yuan ($19,940) if consumers opt for the full purchase option that includes the battery pack.
This is roughly 15% higher than the 119,800 yuan starting price of the standard Firefly model with a battery, which is the most affordable vehicle in Nio's lineup.
Furthermore, Firefly is now positioned as Nio's pioneer brand for international expansion, having officially launched a right-hand drive version in Thailand last week.
Thailand is the second right-hand drive market Firefly has officially entered after Singapore, marking a further expansion of Nio's business footprint in Southeast Asia.
Despite the early-year sales slowdown, Nio's management expressed optimism about the sales outlook during an earnings call earlier this month, noting that volumes quickly rebounded following the Chinese New Year holiday.
