- RoboSense reported a net profit of 103.7 million yuan ($15 million) in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking its first-ever profitable quarter.
- The company's robotics LiDAR shipments surged 2,565% year-on-year in the fourth quarter, intensifying the leadership race with domestic rival Hesai.

Chinese LiDAR maker RoboSense reported its first-ever quarterly profit, a significant financial milestone that highlights the surging demand for sensors in the robotics and electric vehicle sectors.
The Shenzhen-based LiDAR manufacturer achieved a net profit of 103.7 million yuan ($15 million) in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to its earnings report released on Wednesday.
This marks a major financial turnaround compared to a steep net loss of 131.1 million yuan in the same period a year ago.
RoboSense's fourth-quarter revenue jumped 46.1% year-on-year to reach 750.7 million yuan.
Driven by an optimized product mix, the company's overall gross margin improved to 28.5%, up 6.4 percentage points from a year earlier.
The financial milestone achieved by RoboSense in the fourth quarter closely follows in the footsteps of its main domestic rival Hesai, which just reported its first full-year profit for 2025 yesterday, with net income reaching 435.9 million yuan.
The core driver behind RoboSense's ability to turn a profit in the fourth quarter primarily stemmed from the remarkable growth of its robotics business.
LiDAR shipments for robotics surged 2,565.1% year-on-year during the quarter, reaching a record level of 221,200 units.
This massive shipment volume from the robotics business was nearly on par with the 238,400 units of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) LiDAR shipped during the quarter.
The robotics division contributed 346.7 million yuan in revenue for the fourth quarter, accounting for nearly half of the total revenue for the period.
In terms of full-year 2025 results, RoboSense narrowed its annual net loss to 145 million yuan.
Buoyed by solid demand in both global and Chinese markets, the company's total annual revenue grew by 17.7% to 1.941 billion yuan.
The company's total LiDAR shipments for the full year of 2025 reached 912,000 units, representing a strong 67.6% year-on-year increase.
Although rival Hesai delivered over 1.6 million units in 2025, RoboSense claimed the top spot in the robotics segment.
RoboSense sold 303,000 robotics LiDARs throughout 2025, achieving a more than 11-fold increase compared to the previous year.
This record-breaking figure easily surpassed the 239,273 robotics LiDAR shipments reported by Hesai during the same period, cementing its leadership position.
To accommodate future business growth, the company has now completed an annual production capacity layout of 4 million units to meet the surging global market demand.
Looking ahead to 2026, RoboSense expects its ADAS and robotics businesses to achieve a more balanced revenue contribution and sustained high growth.
