Xiaomi saw its smart electric vehicle and AI innovative business post its first annual operating profit in 2025, as vehicle deliveries accelerated.

Revenue for the segment surged 223.8% year-on-year to reach 106.1 billion yuan ($15.4 billion) for the full year, according to earnings released on Tuesday.

The smart EV and AI segment reported a positive income from operations of 900 million yuan in 2025, representing a significant milestone as the business turned positive for the first time.

EV sales were the main driver, contributing 103.3 billion yuan to the segment's total revenue.

Gross margin for the EV and AI segment expanded to 24.3% in 2025, up 5.8 percentage points from the previous year, boosted by higher-margin models.

In the fourth quarter, revenue for the innovative segment reached 37.2 billion yuan, with an operating profit of 1.1 billion yuan.

Xiaomi delivered a total of 411,082 vehicles in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 200.4 percent. The average selling price rose 7.1% to RMB 251,171.

Xiaomi's vehicle deliveries hit a record high of 50,212 units in December, driven largely by the strong performance of the YU7 electric SUV (sport utility vehicle).

The YU7 model delivered 39,089 units in December, accounting for 77.85% of the month's total. Meanwhile, the SU7 sedan series saw its deliveries continue to decline due to a product transition.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi has set a target to deliver 550,000 vehicles for the full year of 2026. The company officially launched the new-generation SU7 sedan last week.

Sales of the new-generation SU7 have been significantly better than the first-generation model, Xiaomi's founder said.
