As is customary in the Chinese EV market, official launch prices for new models are typically lower than their pre-sales prices.

The pre-sales of the Z7 and Z7T closely follow the launch of Xiaomi's updated SU7 electric sedan. The Z7's starting pre-sales price is just 100 yuan lower than the updated SU7's pre-sales price of 229,900 yuan, signaling a fierce scramble for customers.

Xiaomi officially launched the new generation SU7 on March 19 and began its first batch of deliveries today.

The starting price for the new SU7 is set at 219,900 yuan. This official starting price is only 4,000 yuan higher than the first-generation SU7.

The Z7 and Z7T come standard with Huawei's advanced technologies. They are equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.1 smart driving system and an 896-channel LiDAR to enhance autonomous driving capabilities and safety.

They also feature Huawei's Whale 800-volt high-voltage battery platform. The cars use 81-kWh or 100-kWh ternary lithium batteries supplied by CATL. Under the CLTC standard, the vehicles can achieve a range of up to 905 kilometers.

The Shangjie Z7 series offers both single-motor and dual-motor versions. The single-motor version has a maximum power of 264 kilowatts. The dual-motor version reaches a maximum combined power of 434 kilowatts.

Shangjie is a new auto brand created by Huawei and SAIC, marking the fifth brand under the HIMA umbrella. The Z7 is Shangjie's second model, following the H5 SUV (sport utility vehicle).

The Shangjie Z7 series will compete directly with the updated Xiaomi SU7. This marks the first head-to-head clash between Huawei and Xiaomi in the car-making sector.

In addition, the Tesla Model 3 and Xpeng P7 are also core competitors for the Z7 series.
