Huawei-backed Aito begins pre-sales of M6 SUV, updates M7 and M8 to boost sales

Aito, an automotive brand jointly created by Huawei and Seres Group, has initiated pre-sales for its all-new M6 SUV (sport utility vehicle) and launched updated versions of the M7 and M8, marking the brand's further expansion in the highly competitive Chinese auto market.

Huawei announced the start of pre-sales for the Aito M6 at a spring product launch event held on Monday, with a starting pre-sales price of 269,800 yuan ($39,040).

This mid-to-large-size SUV primarily targets young families and is scheduled to officially go on sale in the second quarter of this year.

The Aito M6 measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width, and 1,736 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

The entire lineup comes standard with the world's highest-spec mass-produced 896-channel LiDAR. This Huawei-developed technology is designed to provide ultra-high-definition and ultra-long-range obstacle recognition capabilities.

The model offers consumers both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options.

The Aito M6 EREV is offered in Max+ and Ultra variants, with pre-sales prices starting at 269,800 yuan and 289,800 yuan, respectively. The Aito M6 BEV is offered in Max+ Long Range and Ultra variants, starting at 289,800 yuan and 309,800 yuan, respectively.

The BEV version adopts an 800-volt high-voltage platform and is equipped with a 100-kWh battery pack supplied by CATL, delivering a range of up to 760 kilometers.

The EREV version is equipped with either a 37-kWh or 53.4-kWh battery pack paired with a 60-liter fuel tank, offering a maximum WLTC combined range of up to 1,400 kilometers.

At the same spring launch event, Huawei also announced the launch of the updated Aito M7 and M8 SUVs.

The refreshed Aito M7 has a starting price of 309,800 yuan, an increase from its previous starting price of 279,800 yuan.

The model has also been upgraded with the new roof-mounted 896-channel LiDAR to achieve better assisted driving capabilities.

The new Aito M7 continues to offer EREV and BEV options to meet the needs of different consumers.

The higher-positioned new Aito M8 starts at 369,800 yuan, also higher than its previous starting price of 359,800 yuan.

This large SUV adds two new exterior color options, red and blue. It is also equipped with CATL battery packs and is available in single-motor and dual-motor versions.

Aito, the first automotive brand under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), has become one of China's most successful domestic premium brands.

The Aito M6 will compete with rivals such as Xiaomi's YU7 and Li Auto's Li L6, while also aiming to attract potential Tesla Model Y customers.

In addition to the M6, M7, and M8, Aito also offers a lower-priced model, the M5 SUV.

The Maextro S800 and Aito M9 will be equipped with 896-channel LiDAR, the highest specification globally.
