Leapmotor has officially opened its first overseas innovation center in Munich, Germany, where the new facility will oversee the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker's design iterations and the conceptual development of future models.
The center, located in Schwabing-Freimann, a cultural and lifestyle hub in northern Munich, marks Leapmotor's strategic leap from merely exporting products to exporting design, it said in a statement on Saturday.
Leapmotor has now built a globalized design network with hubs in Munich, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. The company plans to integrate advanced international design concepts into its design language.
The move comes as the company accelerates its global business expansion. In 2025, Leapmotor's exports reached 67,052 units, ranking first among Chinese emerging EV brands, according to data released earlier this month.
As of the end of February 2026, the Stellantis-backed automaker's cumulative exports have exceeded 100,000 units, and it ranks among the top three Chinese brands in pure EV sales in Europe.
In Spain, Leapmotor's CKD (Completely Knocked Down) project has been officially initiated. The company plans to introduce the B10 and B05 models to further expand its market share in Europe.
The B10 model has started local manufacturing in the OTS (Off-Tooling Sample) phase, with the first trial vehicle already produced. The model is expected to officially enter commercial production in October 2026.
Meanwhile, the B05 model is expected to begin trial production in June 2026. The model is scheduled to enter official local production in 2027 to meet growing European demand.
Leapmotor recently reported its first full-year profit, achieving a net income of 540 million yuan ($78.4 million) in 2025.
Its annual revenue surged 101.3% from the previous year to a record 64.73 billion yuan as it maintained strong delivery momentum throughout 2025.
Leapmotor delivered 596,555 new vehicles in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 103.1%. The company now has an ambitious target to deliver over 1 million vehicles in 2026.
The all-new A10 model (named B03X for overseas markets) will officially launch in China on March 26. This global strategic product will eventually be sold in nearly 40 countries and regions.
