Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) giant BYD has announced UK pricing for the Atto 3 Evo, with the newly upgraded electric SUV available for order starting April 2.
As a comprehensive update to the Atto 3 — BYD's debut model in the UK — the entry-level Design trim will start at £38,990 ($52,020).
The new model not only boosts battery range but also significantly cuts charging times, marking a further expansion for the Chinese automaker in the European market.
The entry-level Design variant features a rear-wheel-drive, single-motor system. It delivers 309 bhp and achieves an official tested range of up to 316 miles. The vehicle also comes standard with a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
The top-tier Excellence trim is priced from £42,730. This version utilizes a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive layout with a total output of 443 bhp, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
Both models are equipped with a 74.8-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade Battery. Thanks to 220 kW DC fast-charging technology, the new car's charging speed has doubled, taking just 25 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%.
The Atto 3 is one of BYD's most important global models, known as the Yuan Plus in China.
The new vehicle adopts BYD's latest Cell-to-Body technology architecture. The battery pack is built directly into the car's chassis, which enhances overall structural rigidity. This design also provides a more spacious cabin for passengers.
Practicality has seen a significant boost in this comprehensive upgrade. Boot capacity has increased by 50 liters to a total of 490 liters. Additionally, a new 95-liter frunk storage has been added under the hood.
Initial deliveries of the new vehicle are expected to commence later this year, according to a statement from BYD on Thursday.
