- Nio reached the 80,000th delivery of its third-generation ES8 on Friday, less than a month after the electric SUV hit its 70,000th delivery.
- Nio Inc is expected to deliver between 32,021 and 35,021 vehicles in March, double the number from the same period last year, according to its guidance.

Nio Inc reached the 80,000th delivery of its third-generation ES8, less than a month after the 70,000th delivery of the electric sport utility vehicle (SUV).
The electric vehicle (EV) maker officially delivered its 80,000th third-generation ES8 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Friday, highlighting the high-margin model's strong sales momentum following the Chinese New Year holiday.
Nio just completed the 70,000th delivery of the third-generation ES8 on February 27. The latest delivery progress means the flagship SUV is on track to see its deliveries exceed 10,000 units again in March.
The commercial success of the third-generation ES8 has played a key role in driving Nio's recent historic financial turnaround. The company reported earlier this month a GAAP operating profit of 807.3 million yuan ($117 million) for the fourth quarter of 2025, marking its first-ever quarterly profit.
Despite seasonal headwinds from the Chinese Spring Festival break, retail sales of the SUV, which starts at 406,800 yuan, still reached 11,260 units in February. That figure accounted for 54.14% of Nio Inc's total deliveries for the month.
Nio co-founder and president Qin Lihong said in a media communication earlier this month that the recovery of new ES8 orders has been very strong since the holiday ended in late February.
To sustain the ES8's sales momentum, the company rolled out a series of promotional measures in March.
These initiatives include a limited-time purchase tax subsidy of 10,000 yuan for the new ES8, as well as the introduction of a new Nebula Red exterior paint option.
In its earnings report on March 10, Nio guided vehicle deliveries for the first quarter of 2026 to be between 80,000 and 83,000 units. This implies that March deliveries are expected to be 32,021 to 35,021 vehicles, doubling from 15,039 in the same period last year.
While boosting short-term sales, the company is preparing to launch a new flagship SUV model, the ES9, in the second quarter to consolidate its position in the premium market.
