Li Auto saw its 80,000th Li i6 roll off the assembly line on Friday, with deliveries of the electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) accelerating in a sign that supply chain bottlenecks are easing.

Li Xinyang, head of the company's product line, announced the milestone on Weibo today, stating that estimated delivery times for most pending orders will be further advanced as Li i6 production capacity continues to ramp up.

The progress is crucial for Li Auto, as the Li i6 — its second pure electric SUV — is tasked with driving the automaker's transition from extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) to battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Launched on September 26, 2025, the Li i6 starts at 249,800 yuan ($36,300). The model targets the family user market while emphasizing a long driving range and high-power charging capabilities.

The Li i6 delivered 16,007 units in February — the month of the Chinese New Year holiday — down slightly from 16,883 in January, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Overall, Li Auto delivered 26,421 vehicles in February, up 0.6% year-on-year. This snapped an eight-month streak of year-on-year declines, though total deliveries still fell 4.51% from the previous month.

On January 29, Li Auto delayed deliveries of some Li i6 orders due to battery supply shortages, attempting to guide customers to choose versions with different battery suppliers to shorten wait times.

The company delivered 406,343 vehicles in the full year of 2025, but growth momentum in early 2026 remains unstable, reflecting that pure electric models have yet to fully take over the market position of its extended-range products.

During an earnings call earlier this month, Li Auto's management said they are targeting a 20% year-on-year increase in vehicle deliveries for 2026. This implies the company is aiming to deliver about 490,000 vehicles this year.

Li Auto is set to unveil its new pure electric model, the Li i9, in the second half of this year, which will serve as its flagship electric SUV.

Li Auto will launch its first automated charging station in the second quarter, aiming to reduce driver input for charging.
