Geely Auto sub-brand Geely Galaxy has teased the new Starshine 7 plug-in hybrid sedan, as the Chinese automaker increases its bet on hybrid models.

Geely Galaxy shared multiple official images of the Starshine 7 on Tuesday. Billed as the world's first four-wheel-drive mid-size electric hybrid sedan, the new product is expected to revitalize the brand's sales momentum.

The new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) model comes as Geely recorded a massive 89.31% surge in plug-in hybrid sales this past February.

The strong demand for hybrids forms a stark contrast to its pure battery electric vehicle deliveries, which experienced a 6.05% year-on-year decline during the same period.

The Starshine 7 measures 4,958 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,852 mm, according to its regulatory filing last year.

It is expected to be equipped with the new-generation Leishen electric hybrid system, featuring a 1.5 L engine with a maximum power of 82 kW. The model's powertrain delivers a combined output of 312 kW and a peak torque of 526 Nm.

Powered by this system, the Starshine 7 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.4 seconds, Geely Galaxy said on Tuesday.

There is currently no pricing information for the Starshine 7, but it is expected to target China's affordable sedan market.

The last product launch in the Starshine lineup was in October 2025, when the Starshine 6 hybrid sedan hit the market with a discounted starting price of just 68,800 yuan ($9,990).

Geely Auto achieved total sales of 206,160 vehicles during the slow season in February, up 0.61% year-on-year, despite a 23.69% drop from January, according to data released on March 1.

Geely Galaxy sold 73,125 vehicles in February, down 3.95% year-on-year and 11.89% from January, failing to maintain the rapid growth pace seen since last year.
