Linghui, BYD's sub-brand targeting the ride-hailing market and corporate customers, will also use flash-charging technology, alongside BYD's main brand and several other high-end sub-brands.

Linghui said in a teaser video on Monday that the mid-size sedan Linghui e7 will be equipped with BYD's latest flash-charging technology, enabling it to be nearly fully charged in just 9 minutes.

The first batch of display vehicles for the sedan has arrived at Linghui stores in 127 Chinese cities, the brand announced on Tuesday.

The Linghui e7 is positioned as a strategic product for the ride-hailing, taxi, and business vehicle markets, aiming to improve the turnover efficiency of commercial vehicles through its ultra-fast charging capabilities.

The sedan, built on BYD's existing Sealion 06 EV platform, marks BYD's attempt to protect its main brand's image by establishing an independent commercial sub-brand.

The new model offers 2 range versions of 450 kilometers and 550 kilometers, according to previously released information.

The Linghui e7 measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, according to the model's regulatory filing information.

The vehicle offers customers a choice between two drive motors with power outputs of 100 kW and 130 kW.

By consolidating its fleet sales into the independent Linghui brand, BYD is attempting to address the dilution of its brand value caused by its mainstream models being widely used as taxis.

The Linghui brand's product matrix is already expanding rapidly, with regulatory documents showing plans to launch multiple models in addition to the e7.

The Linghui e9 is based on the BYD Han sedan, measuring 4,995 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.

The Linghui e5 is based on the Qin Plus EV, measuring 4,805 mm in length, 1,837 mm in width, and 1,530 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,718 mm.

The Linghui M9 is based on the BYD Xia MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), measuring 5,200 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,045 mm.

These models feature a brand-new logo and have undergone hardware optimizations tailored to commercial operation needs.

Addressing the operational challenges in cold northern regions, the Linghui e7 is also equipped with a wide-temperature-range heat pump air conditioning system, which BYD said will effectively reduce winter energy consumption and improve range performance.

BYD officially launched its second-generation blade battery, achieving an ultra-fast charge to 97% in just nine minutes.
