- Qijing has officially named its first shooting brake coupe GT7, highlighting the model's driving control and intelligent experience.
- The GT7 is equipped with Huawei's highest-specification 896-channel LiDAR technology, aiming to capture a share of China's growing premium EV market.

Qijing, a premium electric vehicle brand jointly created by Huawei and GAC Group (HKG: 2238), has officially named its first model the GT7.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced the naming decision on Tuesday, stating that the new-generation intelligent shooting brake coupe will be officially unveiled on March 17.
As the latest result of the collaboration between the two parties in autonomous driving and chassis technology, the model is highly anticipated to capture a share of China's growing premium EV market.
Dubbed a "new species of coupe in the AI era," the shooting brake model will be equipped with multiple industry-leading intelligent hardware components and is scheduled to officially go on sale and begin deliveries in June this year.
The GT7 model is equipped with the world's highest-specification mass-produced 896-channel LiDAR, a system that directly upgrades the vehicle's environmental perception capabilities from a traditional point-cloud level to an image level.
Huawei said that this powerful hardware system can accurately identify small obstacles 14 centimeters high from 120 meters away, thereby significantly reducing the response time for autonomous driving.
In addition to advanced radar perception technology, the new model also features Huawei's HarmonyOS smart cockpit and the XMC digital engine chassis, and it supports L3 autonomous driving at the underlying architecture level.
The Qijing brand was officially announced in September 2025. The brand is currently led by CEO Liu Jiaming, an auto industry veteran who previously held key positions at core enterprises such as GAC Toyota.
Qijing is committed to creating a flagship shooting brake coupe capable of rivaling the driving and riding experience of the 1 million yuan ($144,530) class, the brand previously said.
According to the latest official teasers, the shooting brake coupe supports five-dimensional motion vector control technology, achieving precise hardware synergy among its three electric motors, suspension, and steering system.
This deep integration of software and hardware allows the GT7 to consistently maintain a faster and more stable body posture when facing extreme road conditions such as ice and snow, or during high-speed cornering.
Shooting brake coupes were once a very niche segment in China, but the success of competitor Zeekr 001 has proven to the industry its immense hidden commercial value.
