BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched the Seal 07 EV and the 2026 Sealion 06 EV, both featuring the second-generation blade battery and flash-charging technology, making them among its first models to be equipped with these new technologies.
The company rolled out the two models on Thursday. The Seal 07 EV sedan is offered in two variants, with starting prices of 169,900 yuan ($24,600) and 189,900 yuan, respectively.
The model is equipped with a 69-kWh battery pack, offering a maximum range of up to 705 kilometers.
It features a 240-kW single motor and adopts a rear-mounted, rear-wheel-drive architecture.
The Seal 07 EV measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, targeting the mid-to-large-size pure electric sedan market.
In terms of smart driving, the model is expected to support the God's Eye 5.0 driving assistance system and feature city navigation assist functions.
BYD also launched the 2026 Sealion 06 EV SUV (sport utility vehicle), offering four variants with starting prices of 159,900 yuan, 168,900 yuan, 168,900 yuan, and 179,900 yuan, respectively.

Its length, width, and height remain 4,810 mm, 1,920 mm, and 1,675 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, identical to its predecessor.
The model's range reaches up to 710 kilometers. Under normal temperature conditions, it takes only about 9 minutes to charge the vehicle from 10% to 97%.
Even in an environment of minus 30 degrees Celsius, charging from 20% to 97% takes only about 11 minutes, according to BYD.
The new car adopts a rear-mounted single-motor layout, with the motor power increased from 180 kW to 240 kW.
In terms of the chassis, the Sealion 06 EV comes standard with the DiSus-C intelligent body control system across the entire lineup. It is also equipped with the high-speed tire blowout stabilization system, which can stabilize the vehicle body in the event of a tire blowout at a speed of 140 km/h.
The 2026 Sealion 06 EV offers the God's Eye 5.0 driving assistance system as an optional feature.
At Thursday's event, BYD introduced the second-generation blade battery and the new-generation flash-charging technology, which significantly reduce charging times, in an attempt to enhance the appeal of electric vehicles through technological upgrades.
The company plans to build 20,000 flash-charging stations in China by the end of this year and expand the flash-charging network to overseas markets in the future.
