BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has updated all models of its ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang, except for its supercars, following the announcement of its disruptive battery and charging technologies.
At Thursday's event, Yangwang launched the 2026 Yangwang U7, U8, and U8L Dingshi Edition models, equipped with BYD's second-generation blade battery and flash-charging technology.
The updated versions of these three models have starting prices of 658,000 yuan ($95,310), 1,008,000 yuan, and 1,300,000 yuan, respectively.
The prices of the U7 and U8L have been slightly increased compared to their predecessors, while the price of the U8 has been slightly reduced. Yangwang also introduced multiple car-purchasing benefits, including financial plans, trade-in subsidies, and limited-time deposit discounts.
Yangwang is BYD's sub-brand targeting the high-end market. Launched in 2023, the brand aims to compete with traditional luxury brands as well as emerging electric luxury car brands.
Among them, the Yangwang U7 is positioned as a large luxury sedan, offering both pure electric and plug-in hybrid versions.
Official data shows that the pure electric version of the Yangwang U7 has a maximum CLTC range of up to 1,006 kilometers. The vehicle adopts a quad-motor drive architecture, with a maximum total power of up to 1,000 kW.
The model is also equipped with the DiSus-Z suspension system, combined with rear-wheel steering and agile steering technology, to enhance handling and comfort performance.
The hybrid Yangwang U8 is positioned as a luxury off-road SUV. The 2026 model has been upgraded in terms of range and energy replenishment efficiency, and adds the flash-charging function.

The model has a CLTC pure electric range of 230 kilometers and a comprehensive range of 1,205 kilometers. The vehicle supports charging to 70% in 5 minutes and to 97% in about 9 minutes.
In terms of power, the U8 is equipped with the quad-motor e4 system, delivering a maximum power of 880 kW and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.6 seconds.
The vehicle is equipped with the DiSus-P Plus intelligent hydraulic body control system and supports safety features such as emergency flotation and tire blowout stabilization.
The Yangwang U8L Dingshi Edition is Yangwang's flagship model, starting at 1.3 million yuan, and is positioned as a large luxury SUV.
The U8L has been further upgraded in size and luxury configurations, with the new car reaching 5,400 mm in length and a wheelbase of 3,250 mm.
The model is equipped with an exclusive logo made of 24K real gold to strengthen its luxury positioning.

The Yangwang U8L is also equipped with a quad-motor powertrain, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of about 3.5 seconds.
In terms of smart driving, both the Yangwang U8 and U8L are equipped with the God's Eye A advanced driving assistance system. Based on an end-to-end architecture, this system provides navigation assist functions on highways and urban roads.
BYD has continued to increase its layout in the high-end market in recent years, with the Yangwang brand becoming an important platform for the company to showcase its core technologies.
