GWM reports 72,594 vehicle sales in Feb, driven by nearly 60% overseas mix

• GWM sold 42,675 vehicles overseas in February, achieving a 37.36% year-on-year increase and a 5.95% rise compared to January.
• GWM's February sales declined by 6.79% year-on-year and fell by 19.62% compared to January.

GWM (HKG: 2333, SHA: 601633) experienced an overall year-on-year sales decline in February, primarily impacted by the Chinese New Year holiday.

However, the company maintained robust performance in overseas markets, with exports contributing 58.79% of its total monthly sales.

The Chinese automotive giant sold 72,594 vehicles in February, down 6.79% year-on-year and down 19.62% from January's 90,312 units, according to data released on Sunday.

The sales fluctuation was largely attributed to seasonal factors, as the 2026 Spring Festival holiday fell between February 15 and 23. In contrast, last year's holiday period was primarily concentrated in January, creating a significant difference in the base figures.

Despite domestic market slowdowns due to holiday shutdowns, GWM's overseas operations maintained robust growth momentum.

Overseas sales reached 42,675 units in February, marking a 37.36% year-on-year increase and a 5.95% rise from January.

The core Haval brand remained the mainstay of sales, contributing 43,660 units in February — accounting for 60.14% of total monthly sales.

Haval's monthly sales rose 0.83% year-on-year but declined 13.57% from January due to the holiday impact.

The premium brand Wey sold 5,615 units in February, accounting for 7.73% of total sales. This represented a 54.13% year-on-year increase, though it fell 28.68% from January's 7,873 units.

Sales of the Tank brand and pickup trucks totaled 10,036 and 12,011 units respectively, showing year-on-year declines of 14.67% and 30.42%.

In the new energy vehicle (NEV) segment, GWM sold 12,744 units in February, down 15.72% year-on-year and down 29.31% month-on-month.

NEVs contributed 17.56% to GWM's total February sales, marking the lowest proportion since March 2024.

GWM's cumulative sales for the first two months of this year reached 162,906 units, achieving a 2.58% year-on-year increase.
