Geely Holding Group's ride-hailing subsidiary Cao Cao Mobility has seen its robotaxi fleet reach 100 vehicles, as it aims to expand to 100,000 units by 2030.

The 100th robotaxi commenced operations in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on February 11, marking a key step in its Robotaxi 2.0 phase, the company said.

During the Robotaxi 2.0 phase, Cao Cao will transition from deploying safety drivers to fully autonomous operations while exploring hybrid models combining human and driverless services.

As fleet scale expands, Cao Cao will further validate service reliability while refining operational workflows and passenger experience.

The company has launched its first "Green Intelligent Transit Island" in Hangzhou, featuring automated battery swapping, self-cleaning, smart scheduling, and automatic payment functions.

The facility enhances large-scale autonomous taxi operations while ensuring fleet stability, Cao Cao said.

Cao Cao will next extend daily service hours and expand coverage areas, it said.

The company is also actively expanding into overseas markets, signing a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) to establish a local office this year. It will collaborate with local partners to advance pilot projects for autonomous driving and green mobility technologies.

Cao Cao announced a five-year strategic blueprint in late January, targeting the deployment of 100,000 robotaxis by 2030 and global commercial operations.

It is developing a customized robotaxi model with Geely and other partners, featuring a pre-installed autonomous driving suite, which will debut this year, the company said at the time.

Cao Cao has begun pilot operations of its second-generation robotaxis.
