Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) has filed a new variant for its YU7 SUV (sport utility vehicle), poised to become another ultra-high-performance model for it.

The company has filed for the YU7 GT pure-electric SUV with a powertrain total power output of 738 kW (990 horsepower), surpassing the 508 kW (681 horsepower) of the YU7's most powerful variant, according to a regulatory catalog released today by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The YU7 GT measures 5015 mm in length, 2007 mm in width, and 1597 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. This makes it larger than the regular YU7, which measures 4,999 mm long, 1,996 mm wide, and 1,600 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase.

Its curb weight is 2,460 kg, and it supports a top speed of 300 km/h.

The YU7 GT features dual motors, with peak outputs of 288 kW at the front and 450 kW at the rear.

The standard YU7 Max variant features peak power outputs of 220 kW and 288 kW for its front and rear motors respectively, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds.

The YU7 GT's more powerful motors are expected to achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration time approaching 2 seconds.

The five-seat SUV features an all-black exterior design, contrasting with the YU7's more youthful color scheme.

Its front and rear tire specifications are 265/40R21 and 295/35R21, respectively. The YU7 uses 245/55R19 tires front and rear.

The YU7 GT utilizes ternary lithium batteries supplied by CATL (HKG: 3750, SHE: 300750).

On June 26, 2025, Xiaomi officially launched the YU7, its first electric SUV and the most direct competitor to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y.

The YU7 delivered a record 39,089 units in December, bringing its 2025 total deliveries to 153,673, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Xiaomi delivered over 39,000 vehicles in January, with the YU7 SUV dominating sales, the company said without providing specific figures.

Currently, Xiaomi's most powerful model is the SU7 Ultra electric sedan, equipped with a tri-motor powertrain delivering a combined maximum output of 1,138 kW (1,526 horsepower).

This powertrain enables the SU7 Ultra to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 6.09 seconds.

The YU7 GT is likely to become Xiaomi's first model launched in the European market, competing with vehicles including the Tesla Model Y Performance.
