BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has previewed the Song Ultra EV, which will become the latest model in its popular Song series.
Lu Tian, head of sales for the Dynasty lineup at the new energy vehicle (NEV) giant, shared the first preview image of the Song Ultra EV on Weibo on Wednesday, calling it the lineup's first B-class pure electric SUV (sport utility vehicle).
Lu did not disclose further details. The model entered a regulatory catalog of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology last month, preparing for its market launch.
The Song Ultra EV measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.

These dimensions slightly exceed those of the Song L EV, which measures 4,840 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm.
The Song Ultra EV features a more powerful single-motor rear-wheel-drive system, delivering a maximum power output of 270 kW and a top speed of 210 km/h.
The Song L EV also employs a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration, offering motor peak power options of 150 kW and 230 kW.
The Song Ultra EV supports optional LiDAR installation and is expected to feature BYD's God's Eye B smart driving system, enabling functions including Urban NOA (Navigation on Autopilot).

No pricing details have been disclosed for the Song Ultra EV. The Song L EV smart driving Edition has a starting price range of RMB 189,800 ($27,360) to RMB 249,800.
The Song series ranks among BYD's best-selling models, contributing 17.12% to the group's total sales with 788,003 units sold in 2025, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The series sold 55,169 units in December, marking a 55.82% year-on-year decline though. January figures remain unavailable.
