Geely sells 270,167 vehicles in Jan, up 1.29% year-on-year

• Geely Auto exported a record 60,506 vehicles in January, a 121.20% increase year-on-year.
• The Zeekr brand delivered 23,852 vehicles in January, a 99.73% increase year-on-year.

Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) was among the few Chinese automakers to see sales growth in January, driven by robust exports and strong performance of hybrid models.

The automaker sold 270,167 vehicles in January, marking a 1.29% year-on-year increase and a 14.08% rise from December, according to data released Sunday.

Geely sold 68,012 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in January, down 14.98% year-on-year and down 14.05% month-on-month.

Its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sales came in at 56,240 units in January, up 36.91% year-on-year but down 25.15% month-on-month.

Geely Galaxy was the company's top-selling brand in January, with the sub-brand selling 82,990 units — down 11.28% year-on-year and down 17.58% month-on-month.

Geely Galaxy was originally launched as a new product lineup on February 23, 2023. On March 3 last year, Geely announced the upgrade of Geely Galaxy to a new brand.

Since October 2024, sales of the Geometry lineup have been consolidated under Geely Galaxy, with LEVC subsequently integrated as its premium MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) series.

Including Geely Galaxy, the Geely brand recorded 217,438 units sold in January — a 3.24% year-on-year decrease but a 25.83% increase compared to December.

The Zeekr brand delivered 23,852 vehicles in January, a 99.73% year-on-year increase but a 29.33% decrease from December.

Lynk & Co delivered 28,877 vehicles in January, down 3.99% year-on-year and 4.59% from November.

Geely Auto exported a record 60,506 vehicles in January, up 121.20% year-on-year and 50.10% month-on-month.

Its domestic sales in China reached 209,661 units in January, down 12.62% year-on-year but up 6.69% month-on-month.
