Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) is approaching delivery of its 60,000th third-generation ES8 as momentum continues for the large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle).
Ma Lin, assistant vice president of branding and communications at the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, said on Weibo on Friday that the 60,000th third-generation ES8 delivery is imminent, inviting his followers to guess the exact date.
Yang Bo, Nio's head of user operations, later said on Weibo that the delivery of the 60,000th all-new ES8 would be achieved later this week.
This indicates Nio delivered the latest 10,000 units of the third-generation ES8 in about two weeks, considering the 50,000th delivery occurred on January 18.
Nio and its major peers will announce January vehicle delivery figures on Sunday, February 1.

Notably, January delivery figures may show weakness as China's auto market enters its traditional seasonal slowdown.
From January 1-18, China's passenger new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales totaled 312,000 units, down 16% year-on-year and down 52% month-on-month, according to data released last week by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
The CPCA did not release January 1-25 data, which under previous practice should have been published two days earlier on Wednesday.
Nio officially launched the third-generation ES8 at Nio Day 2025 on September 20, 2025, with deliveries commencing the following day on September 21.
The three-row electric SUV offers six- and seven-seat configurations, with a starting price of RMB 406,800 ($58,540) including the battery pack. It ranks among Nio's most expensive models and is also one of the highest-priced vehicles from domestic Chinese automakers.
On December 29, Nio reached the 40,000th delivery milestone for the third-generation ES8, fulfilling its 2025 delivery target for the model.
Due to production constraints, delivery wait times for the third-generation ES8 initially ranged from 24 to 26 weeks upon launch.
As production capacity increased and industry dynamics shifted, this wait time has steadily decreased and currently stands at 11 to 12 weeks, according to CnEVPost's daily monitoring.
