- BYD will unveil the new flagship model of its Tang SUV series and the new flagship model of its Han sedan series in the first half of the year.
- The new SUV is expected to target the premium market segment priced around RMB 400,000 ($57,510).

The new flagship model of BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Tang SUV (sport utility vehicle) series has been spotted in real life for the first time, ahead of its debut in the first half of the year.
A car blogger named Deng Wei shared three images of the model on Weibo today, suggesting BYD may be filming promotional content for it.
BYD has yet to officially name the model, though text visible on the license plate area in these images suggests the name "Datang" (大唐 in Chinese).
At an event on January 10, BYD announced it would launch two D-segment models within its Dynasty lineup: the Han sedan's 9 series and the Tang SUV's 9 series.
Both models will debut in the first half of this year. As they remain unnamed, BYD had begun soliciting naming suggestions from its user community.
Proposed names for the new Han include "Dahan" (大汉 in Chinese) and Han 9; options for the new Tang include "Datang" and Tang 9.
In China, the 9 series typically represents a brand's top-tier models, as the number 9 is considered supreme.
The 9 series Tang SUV will be the production version of the Dynasty-D full-size concept SUV unveiled at the April 2025 Shanghai auto show, targeting the premium market segment priced around RMB 400,000 ($57,510).
The Tang series is BYD's flagship SUV within its Dynasty lineup. Current models include the hybrid Tang L DM, Tang DM-i, and all-electric Tang L EV, with starting prices ranging from RMB 179,800 to RMB 289,800.
The Tang series SUVs sold 10,129 units in December, bringing the full-year 2025 sales to 154,908 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
