- A 10,800-car ship built by Guangzhou Shipyard International for a South Korean company has left the dock.
- Previously, the largest car carriers were Anji Logistics' two vessels with 9,500 car capacity.

China's shipbuilding industry has achieved a new milestone as demand for car shipping surges.
A 10,800-car LNG dual-fuel car carrier, built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI) for South Korea's HMM, has left the dock.
This is currently the largest car carrier built in China, meeting the International Maritime Organization's Tier III emission standards, GSI said in a Wednesday announcement.
The previous record holders were Anji Logistics' "Anji Soundness" and "Anji Ansheng," both with 9,500 vehicle spaces.
These two vessels are sister ships and were previously the world's largest and highest-capacity next-generation post-Panamax car carriers. Anji Logistics is a subsidiary of SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104).
The latest 10,800-car carrier measures 230 meters in length, 40 meters in beam, and has a structural draft of 10.5 meters.
Its 14-deck design allows flexible loading of electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered vehicles, and heavy-duty trucks.
GSI also observed another new vessel leaving the dock on January 21, built for Singapore's EPS.
As China's auto exports expand, the shipbuilding industry is accelerating its development.
Currently, SAIC operates China's largest car carrier fleet, with its subsidiary Anji Logistics maintaining a fleet of 41 vessels.
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has deployed all eight vessels in its fleet, achieving an annual transport capacity exceeding 1 million vehicles.
Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) also secured a dedicated car carrier last year.
