Onvo, a sub-brand of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866), has launched a new special edition of its L60 midsize SUV (sport utility vehicle) to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse.
The special edition L60, including the battery pack, starts at RMB 218,900 ($31,420), which is RMB 12,000 or 5.80% higher than the standard version's RMB 206,900.
Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) plan, its starting price is RMB 161,900 with a monthly battery rental fee of RMB 599. The standard L60's BaaS starting price is RMB 149,900.
Onvo has named it "Ma Dao Cheng Gong" (马到成功) edition, a Chinese phrase signifying blessings for success and smooth progress.
The special edition L60 is available for immediate delivery. It is time-limited but not quantity-limited.
Compared to the base L60, this special edition adds gold paint, 20-inch wheels, and a Year of the Horse-themed luxury interior as standard, valued by Onvo at RMB 23,700.
This launch aims to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. 2026 marks the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse, beginning on February 17.
The five-seat L60 SUV is Onvo's inaugural model, officially launched on September 19, 2024. On September 19, 2025, Onvo rolled out the updated L60 to commemorate the vehicle's first anniversary.
Onvo also offers the L90 large SUV, which was launched on July 31.
This is one of Onvo's latest special edition models, following the Violet Edition and Black Knight Edition.
In recent months, Nio has frequently launched special editions to boost brand visibility while avoiding major model updates.
Just one day prior, Nio's other sub-brand Firefly launched a special edition Firefly EV on Thursday, co-designed with Dutch artist Jordy van den Nieuwendijk. Only 99 units will be produced.
