Shangjie, the new automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104), has released additional images of its new Z7 model, revealing exterior details of the sedan.
Images shared by Shangjie on Weibo Tuesday reveal the Z7's coupe-like body profile, with its front end echoing the design language of the brand's first model, the H5 SUV (sport utility vehicle).
The Z7 incorporates a lidar sensor on its roof, while its rear light clusters resemble those found on other premium models under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business.
Shangjie first revealed the Z7's general outline in a poster on January 7, shortly after Xiaomi's electric vehicle (EV) unit Xiaomi EV began pre-sales for its updated SU7 sedan that same day.
The brand hinted that the Z7 will compete with the updated Xiaomi SU7, marking Huawei and Xiaomi's first direct confrontation in the automotive sector.
Shangjie is the fifth automotive brand under Huawei's HIMA umbrella, joining Seres Group's Aito, Chery's (HKG: 9973) Luxeed, BAIC Group's Stelato, and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC)'s Maextro.
On September 23, 2025, Shangjie launched its first model, the H5, with a starting price of RMB 159,800 ($22,910), making it the most affordable vehicle under Huawei's HIMA business.
The Shangjie H5 is a mid-size SUV measuring 4,780 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,664 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.
On December 9, the Shangjie H5 reached 20,000 units delivered, 78 days after its market launch.
Shangjie will introduce at least two new models by 2026, SAIC chairman Wang Xiaoqiu said on December 9.
