Dongfeng Motor's premium electric off-road brand M-Hero recently opened a flagship showroom in Doha, Qatar, debuting the M-Hero II off-road model, known as M-Hero M817 in China.
Senior executives from local dealer Al Waha for Cars and representatives from Dongfeng Import & Export Company attended the opening ceremony.
The M-Hero II is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with a powertrain delivering a maximum power output of 505 kW (678 horsepower) and torque of 848 Nm.
It boasts a combined range of up to 1,300 kilometers and achieves fuel consumption of 7.24 liters per 100 kilometers.
The model features an intelligent off-road chassis, air suspension, and an all-aluminum structure, offering nine driving modes.
Tailored for Middle Eastern climates, the M-Hero II includes intelligent four-zone climate control and an air purification system. Its interior boasts Nappa leather upholstery and multi-mode massage seats.
Al Waha for Cars' general manager said that M-Hero's product lineup aligns with Qatar's market demands.
M-Hero is a brand launched by Dongfeng in August 2022. Its first model, the M-917, was launched in China in August 2023.
In August 2024, the M817 was launched in China with a starting price of RMB 319,900 ($45,860). This model incorporates Huawei's ADS 4 advanced driving assistance system and HarmonySpace cockpit system in China.
The M817's primary competitors in China include BYD's Fang Cheng Bao's Bao 8 and GWM's (HKG: 2333, SHA: 601633) Tank 500.
