BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has added two new long-range variants to its Song Pro DM-i hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) while discontinuing one previously available variant, as part of efforts to refine the model lineup.
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker rolled out these two new Song Pro DM-i variants at an event on Saturday, with limited-time subsidized starting prices of RMB 119,800 ($17,170) and RMB 127,800.
Both new variants -- with official starting guide prices of RMB 122,800 and RMB 130,800 -- feature a CLTC battery range of 220 kilometers, higher than the 133-kilometer range of the other two variants.
The 2026 Song Pro DM-i was launched on October 23, 2025, initially offering three variants all with 133 km CLTC battery range. Their official starting prices were RMB 102,800, RMB 112,800, and RMB 125,800.
After BYD subsidies, the starting prices for these three variants were RMB 99,800, RMB 109,800, and RMB 122,800 respectively.
Following the introduction of the two new long-range variants, the previously highest-priced variant has been discontinued.
The hybrid SUV measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,690 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,712 mm.
The two 133-km versions feature BYD blade batteries with a capacity of 18.3 kWh, while the 220-km variant uses a 26.6-kWh battery pack.
With a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery, the Song Pro DM-i boasts a combined range of up to 1,600 kilometers.
This marks BYD's latest move to enhance the appeal of its core models. Over the past two days, it launched long-range variants with up to 210 km of battery range for four hybrid sedans in the Qin and Seal series.
The Song series ranks among BYD's best-selling models, with 788,003 units sold in 2025 according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The SUV lineup currently includes the Song Pro and Song L, both offered in DM-i hybrid and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions.
