Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) has filed its compact electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) A10 for approval, preparing for a launch in the first-half of this year.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released its latest catalog of models soon to be approved for sale for public comment on Thursday, with the Leapmotor A10 included.
Public feedback can be submitted between January 9 and 15. Inclusion in this catalog represents the final major regulatory step before a vehicle model can be sold in China.
The A10 occupies two pages in the catalog, with product models FZ6430BEVA10B and FZ6430BEVA10A, both designated as battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
The five-seat compact electric SUV is the first model in Leapmotor's A series. It measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,605 mm.
The SUV has a curb weight of 1,360/1,460 kg and supports a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
The A10 is equipped with a single motor offering peak power options of 70 kW or 90 kW.
It utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Gotion High-tech.
Production locations include two Leapmotor plants in Jinhua, Zhejiang province.
The filing also indicates that some variants of the Leapmotor A10 will feature a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof.
The A10 represents Leapmotor's latest venture in the compact electric SUV segment, having debuted on the opening day of the Guangzhou auto show on November 21, 2025.
The electric SUV's official launch is scheduled for the first half of 2026, with deliveries commencing shortly thereafter, the company had said.
Leapmotor has not disclosed pricing details for the A10, though an executive said the highest-trim variant will not exceed RMB 100,000 (about $14,330).
The A10 is currently accepting reservations. Consumers can secure the model with a RMB 99 intent deposit, granting access to exclusive benefits.
Leapmotor's current lineup in China includes the T03, B10, B01, C01, C10, C11, and C16. The T03, B01, and B10 are available only as battery electric vehicles (BEVs), while the other models also offer extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
Founder, chairman, and CEO Zhu Jiangming said in October 2025 that two A-series products would be launched in 2026.
The A10 features Qualcomm's SA8650 smart driving chip, supporting parking-to-parking assisted driving. It also incorporates Qualcomm's 8295P cockpit chip, according to previously disclosed information.
