Chinese LiDAR manufacturer Hesai Group (NASDAQ: HSAI; HKEX: 2525) has been selected by US chip giant Nvidia as a LiDAR partner to support the latter's Drive Hyperion 10 platform in achieving L4 fleet deployment.

Hesai announced the partnership on Tuesday, saying it is among the latest partners certified to enable its sensor suite compatibility with the open, production-ready Drive Hyperion architecture.

This sensor ecosystem encompasses cameras, radar, LiDAR, and ultrasonic technologies, enabling automakers and developers to build and validate perception systems optimized for Level 4 autonomous driving.

Hesai ETX is an automotive-grade ultra-long-range LiDAR designed for L3 and L4 autonomous driving applications. The company did not specify whether the collaboration involves this LiDAR model.

Hesai and Nvidia established their partnership in 2019. In December 2021, Hesai announced that Nvidia would adopt its Pandar128 LiDAR as the ground truth sensor for its autonomous driving development systems on the Nvidia Drive platform.

On Monday, the day before announcing the latest collaboration, Hesai revealed it would increase its planned annual production capacity from 2 million units in 2025 to 4 million units in 2026 to meet growing LiDAR demand in the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and robotics sectors.

Construction of Hesai's new factory in Bangkok, Thailand, is progressing steadily and is expected to commence production in early 2027, the company said.

Hesai delivered 1.6 million LiDAR units in 2025, including about 1.4 million ADAS products and over 200,000 robotics products.

Founded in 2014, Hesai is a LiDAR solutions provider with automotive manufacturers as its primary clients.

It was listed on the Nasdaq on February 9, 2023, and on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on September 16, 2025.

This marks Hesai's second LiDAR order announcement from a US company this month.
