Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) is set to launch the refreshed P7+ soon, aiming to boost sales of its mid-to-large sedan by adding extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker began teasing the 2026 P7+ on Weibo today, stating the model will continue its "dual- powertrain" strategy by offering both EREV and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options.

Launched on November 7, 2024, the current P7+ starts at RMB 186,800 ($26,640), a competitive price for a mid-to-large-sized smart EV.

However, like most EVs in China, initial strong sales have since trended downward. The sedan's November deliveries were 4,870 units, one of the lowest monthly figures this year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Xpeng aims to boost P7+ sales by adding EREV variants and expanding its overseas market coverage.

The 2026 P7+ is a global model set to launch in 36 countries, Xpeng announced today.

The vehicle employs globally unified production and safety standards, Xpeng chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said on Weibo.

The facelifted P7+ will offer EREV variants with a combined range of up to 1,550 kilometers and BEV versions with a range of up to 725 kilometers.

It introduces 104 experience enhancements and upgrades 36 percent of primary assemblies, the company said.

Like most Chinese EV startups, Xpeng initially produced only BEVs during its early years.

It unveiled its extended-range system, named the Kunpeng Super Electric System, at a Tech Day event in November 2024, formally announcing its entry into the EREV segment.

On November 20 this year, Xpeng launched the extended-range version of its X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), marking its first model to offer both BEV and EREV options.

Additionally, the company has filed for EREV variants of its G6 and G7 SUVs (sport utility vehicles), expected to be launched in 2026.

Xpeng delivered 36,728 vehicles in November, marking an 18.88 percent year-on-year increase but a 12.58 percent decrease from October, according to data released earlier this month.

The P7+ ranked as the company's third-highest delivering model in November, despite a 12.54 percent decline from October. The electric sedan contributed 13.26 percent of Xpeng's November deliveries.
