Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) has delivered its 40,000th third-generation ES8, just 11 days after the 30,000th unit of the large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) was delivered, as the company aims to deliver more of the model before year-end.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker announced this milestone on its social media accounts today without providing further details.
Nio's head of user operations Yang Bo first shared the milestone on Weibo earlier today, stating that the 40,000th all-new ES8 was delivered to its owner in Zhongshan, Guangdong.
The delivery of the 40,000th all-new ES8 means Nio has met its annual target for this large electric SUV as planned.
This achievement comes just 100 days after the model's launch, implying about 20,000 units were delivered in December.
Nio officially launched the third-generation ES8 at Nio Day 2025 on September 20, with deliveries commencing the following day on September 21.
The three-row electric SUV offers six- and seven-seat configurations, with a starting price of RMB 406,800 ($58,010) including the battery pack. It ranks among Nio's most expensive models and is one of the priciest offerings from any domestic Chinese automaker.
Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li pledged during the third-generation ES8 launch event that annual production capacity for the model would reach about 40,000 units this year.
Within two days of its new launch, the entire 40,000-unit annual production capacity for the year was sold out.
