Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) unveiled a new model during its 10th-anniversary celebration and announced the launch date for its flagship D19 SUV (sport utility vehicle).
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker today debuted the D99 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), its first MPV model.
The D99 -- the second model in Leapmotor's D series -- measures over 5.2 meters in length, just under 2 meters in width, and boasts a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 meters, according to the company.
The MPV will offer extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants, similar to Leapmotor's other models.
The D99 EREV features an 80.3-kWh battery pack, positioning it as the world's longest-range extended-range MPV on battery power, Leapmotor said.
Its BEV variant will be built on a 1000-volt high-voltage electrical system and equipped with a 115-kWh battery pack from CATL (HKG: 3750, SHE: 300750).
The D99 employs two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chips to power its smart driving system, delivering 1280 TOPS of computing power and supporting VLA (Visual-Language-Action) large language models.
The MPV model boasts a body torsional stiffness of 46,682 Nm/deg and incorporates a dual-wheel puncture stability system, according to Leapmotor.
Leapmotor's current lineup sold in China includes the T03, B10, B01, C01, C10, C11, C16, and Lafa 5, covering compact EVs, sedans, and SUVs.
At today's event, the company also announced that the D19 SUV will be officially launched and begin deliveries in April 2026.
Leapmotor debuted the D19 on October 16 as the first model in its D series, offering both EREV and BEV variants.
The D19 BEV features a 115-kWh battery pack delivering up to 720 kilometers of range.
The D19 EREV utilizes an 80.3-kWh battery pack -- the largest ever in an EREV for the Chinese market -- delivering up to 500 kilometers of range.
Leapmotor said today that the D19 will offer six-seat and seven-seat configurations.
