GWM's (HKG: 2333) main brand Haval is reportedly adopting Momenta's assisted driving solution, marking a new business expansion win for the Chinese smart driving solution provider.

Momenta will provide smart driving solutions for two new GWM models, one of which is the Haval Raptor, according to a report yesterday by local media outlet Leiphone.

The GWM models equipped with Momenta's smart driving solutions are expected to be launched early next year, according to the report.

Separately, a source told CnEVPost that DeepRoute, another local autonomous driving technology company, will provide smart driving solutions for the top-trim version of the Haval Raptor.

These two GWM models featuring Momenta's solutions will be positioned at the L2+ level of assisted driving capability, supporting highway NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) and parking assistance functions. They will not yet support urban NOA, the Leiphone report cited sources as saying.

They will incorporate Momenta's latest one-stage end-to-end solution, utilizing the same R6 Flywheel large language model deployed in Buick's Electra L7 launched in China.

This smart driving solution will be developed based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8620 chip, delivering effective computing power of 156 TOPS.

To better serve GWM, Momenta established a dedicated assisted driving demonstration and testing team in Baoding, Hebei -- where the automaker is headquartered -- with Momenta CEO Cao Xudong frequently visiting the site, the report noted.

Momenta's upcoming mass-production smart driving solutions will fully transition to one-stage end-to-end approaches, incorporating large language models based on reinforcement learning, the report said.

The autonomous driving company supplies international automakers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Toyota, while also developing L4-capable robotaxis.

GWM's current advanced driving assistance system suppliers also include DeepRoute -- which secured $100 million in Series C1 funding round from GWM in November 2024.

DeepRoute became GWM's smart driving solution provider in March 2024. In August 2024, the GWM Wey Lanshan Smart Driving Edition, equipped with DeepRoute's city NOA solution that operates without relying on high-definition maps, was launched.

Two days ago, the updated Wey Lanshan Smart Driving Edition was launched on December 22, becoming the first mass-produced vehicle to feature DeepRoute's VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model.

GWM, one of China's largest automakers, sold 133,216 vehicles in November, marking a 4.57 percent year-on-year increase but a 6.89 percent decline from October, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

The sales remained predominantly driven by its Haval brand, which contributed 75,383 units -- 56.59 percent of the company's monthly volume.

The premium Wey brand sold 12,763 units in November, accounting for 9.58 percent of GWM's monthly sales.

GWM is scouting locations for its first European plant, aiming to achieve an annual production capacity of 300,000 cars in Europe by 2029, Reuters reported.
