Qijing, the new brand jointly created by Huawei and GAC Group (HKG: 2238), is expected to launch its first model in June 2026, following the brand's official unveiling in September.

Qijing revealed this plan in a Q&A posted on Weibo today, saying its debut model will be a shooting brake-style coupe boasting aesthetics, driving dynamics, and intelligence comparable to vehicles priced around RMB 1 million ($142,090).

The joint team from the brand and Huawei Qiankun is conducting in-depth final-stage product development tuning to build a dream car to the highest standards, Qijing said.

GAC officially unveiled the Qijing brand on September 19, targeting the premium EV market.

The automaker established an independent company to operate the brand, while Huawei dispatched its talent to participate in the project, it said at the time.

GAC will prioritize Qijing with top-tier resources to ensure the brand's long-term development, it said.

All Qijing vehicles will be equipped with Huawei Qiankun's most advanced intelligent technologies, GAC said.

On September 25, the brand appointed Liu Jiaming as CEO, who previously worked at GAC Toyota and GAC Group.

Liu said at the time that the brand's first model completed summer testing in Xinjiang, passing rigorous challenges in extreme high temperatures.

The tests aim to validate the safety and product maturity of L3 systems through real-world road conditions and user data, providing evidence for national policy.
