- This marks the success of a homegrown Chinese luxury sedan with a starting price of RMB 708,000 ($100,540).
- In November, monthly deliveries of the Maextro S800 exceeded 2,000 units.

Maextro, the new automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), today saw the rollout of its 10,000th Maextro S800 sedan, less than seven months after its market launch.
The milestone marks the success of a homegrown Chinese luxury sedan, following years of dominance by German luxury automakers in this market.
The 10,000th Maextro S800 was delivered to Chinese martial arts superstar Jet Li, who announced in August that he had purchased a Luxeed R7 -- developed jointly by Huawei and Chery -- as a wedding gift for his eldest daughter.
Maextro, the highest-end brand under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business umbrella, launched its first model, the S800, on May 30.
The model currently offers battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options, along with four-seat and five-seat configurations.
It features two BEV variants, with the five-seat version starting at RMB 708,000 ($100,540) and the four-seat version at RMB 818,000.
The large sedan offers four EREV variants: two five-seat versions starting at RMB 708,000 and RMB 788,000, respectively, and two four-seat versions starting at RMB 818,000 and RMB 1,018,000.
These prices significantly exceed those of mainstream models currently sold in China, where vehicles priced between RMB 100,000 and RMB 200,000 account for nearly half of monthly sales volume.
In November, monthly deliveries of the Maextro S800 exceeded 2,000 units, securing its position as the top-selling luxury vehicle priced above RMB 700,000 for three consecutive months, HIMA announced earlier this month.
Cumulative orders for the model surpassed 18,000 units within 175 days of its launch, according to HIMA.
Beyond the S800, Maextro plans to introduce multiple new models next year, including SUV (sport utility vehicle) and MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) variants, local media outlet 36Kr reported last month.
Each will offer both standard and long-wheelbase versions, while the S800 will introduce higher-spec variants, the report said.
By 2026, Maextro will have a total of six models, the report noted.
