Deepal, the new energy vehicle (NEV) division of Changan Automobile (SHE: 000625), has rolled out two new variants for its updated S07 mid-size SUV (sport utility vehicle), offering increased range.
Both variants are battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with a 630-kilometer CLTC range and come standard with Huawei's Qiankun ADS SE smart driving system.
This comes less than three months after the updated S07's launch, just as Deepal reached its cumulative delivery milestone of 700,000 vehicles.
The SUV previously offered two BEV variants, both with a 550-km CLTC range. It also has three extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
The starting prices for the two new BEV variants are RMB 164,900 ($23,350) and RMB 174,900.
Deepal offers a limited-time RMB 11,000 discount on the new versions, bringing the effective starting prices down to RMB 153,900 and RMB 163,900.
The five-seat mid-size SUV measures 4,750 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
The new long-range variants feature a rear motor with a maximum power output of 190 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
Both new variants feature a 77.94-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, larger than the 68.82-kWh ones in the other two BEV variants.
The Deepal S07 was initially launched on July 25, 2024. On September 19 this year, Deepal launched the updated S07.
Deepal is Changan's NEV brand announced in 2022. Its first model, the SL03 -- a Tesla Model 3 competitor -- was officially launched on July 25, 2022.
Beyond the S07 and SL03, the brand's current lineup includes the L06 sedan, L07 sedan, S05 SUV, S09 SUV, and G318 SUV.
Deepal announced earlier this week that it had delivered its 700,000th vehicle.
