Shangjie, the new automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104), has reached 20,000 deliveries for its sole model, the H5 SUV (sport utility vehicle).

The two companies announced this milestone today during a live video event for Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business, 78 days after the Shangjie H5's market launch.

Shangjie is the fifth automotive brand under the Huawei HIMA umbrella, joining Seres Group's Aito, Chery's (HKG: 9973) Luxeed, BAIC Group's Stelato, and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group's (JAC) Maextro.

On September 23, Shangjie launched the H5 with a starting price of RMB 159,800 ($22,620), making it the most affordable vehicle under the Huawei HIMA business.

On November 4, Shangjie reached 10,000 H5 deliveries, 43 days after the model's market launch.

The Shangjie H5 is a mid-size SUV measuring 4,780 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,664 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.

It offers extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options, similar to many other models under the Huawei HIMA business.

Shangjie still has a large backlog of orders awaiting delivery, with supplier partners working to accelerate shipments, SAIC chairman Wang Xiaoqiu said at today's event.

The brand will launch at least two new models in 2026, according to Wang.

One of these will be a premium coupe designed to compete with a popular European brand model priced around RMB 1 million, expected to debut next spring, said Richard Yu, Huawei's executive director, head of the product investment committee, and chairman of the consumer business group.

Shangjie's vehicles will not be built on the dedicated platform developed by SAIC and Huawei until the third model, a local media outlet reported.
