Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) sub-brand Onvo today officially launched the L60 Black Knight Edition, priced slightly higher than the standard version of the midsize SUV (sport utility vehicle) and limited to 666 units.
The L60 Black Knight Edition starts at RMB 211,900 ($29,970) including the battery pack, which is RMB 5,000 or 2.42 percent higher than the standard model's starting price of RMB 206,900.
Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) battery rental plan, the L60 Black Knight Edition starts at RMB 154,900, compared to RMB 149,900 for the standard model.
The L60 comes standard with a 60-kWh battery pack across its lineup. The monthly cost of the pack is RMB 599 under the BaaS plan.
The L60 Black Knight Edition only offers the 60-kWh battery pack option, delivering a CLTC range of 530 kilometers. The limited-edition model is available only in rear-wheel-drive configuration, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The standard L60 also offers an 85-kWh long-range battery pack and all-wheel-drive options, though at higher costs.
Compared to the standard L60, the Black Knight Edition features exclusive black exterior trim, 20-inch wheels, black logos, and a unique interior theme.
The five-seat L60 SUV is Onvo's first model, officially launched on September 19, 2024.
On September 19 this year, Onvo launched the updated L60 to mark its one-year anniversary, maintaining the original pricing.
The L60 Black Knight Edition represents Onvo's latest attempt to boost brand visibility and sales following the introduction of the L90 Black Knight Edition.
The L90 large three-row SUV, Onvo's second model, was launched on July 31 with a starting price of RMB 265,800 including the battery pack.
On November 21, Onvo launched the L90 Black Knight Edition on the first day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show. It's limited to 999 units, and deliveries commenced yesterday.
The L90 special edition starts at RMB 306,800 including the battery pack, representing a RMB 41,000 or 15.43 percent premium over the standard L90's base price.
These moves come as Onvo begins to face sales pressure. Earlier today, the brand announced plans to double the number of battery packs available to it at swap stations within the next month.
