Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) sub-brand Onvo has reached its 40,000th delivery milestone for the L90, its large three-row electric SUV (sport utility vehicle), as nationwide deliveries of the Black Knight Edition commence.
Onvo announced this milestone today, revealing Hong Kong actor Louis Koo as the owner of the 40,000th L90 and the first owner of the L90 Black Knight Edition.
Koo gained widespread recognition in the Chinese mainland for starring in the 1995 television adaptation of The Condor Heroes.
Onvo launched the L90 Black Knight Edition, capped at 999 units, on the opening day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show on November 21, with Koo appearing alongside the model at the Onvo booth.
Nationwide deliveries of the L90 Black Knight Edition commenced today, Onvo said.
The 40,000th L90 delivery marks just four months since the SUV's July 31 launch, setting a record for the fastest delivery pace among pure-electric large SUVs in China, Onvo said.
The Onvo L90 Black Knight Edition starts at RMB 306,800 ($43,400) including the battery pack, representing a RMB 41,000 (15.43 percent) premium over the standard L90's starting price of RMB 265,800.
Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) battery rental plan, the Onvo L90 Black Knight Edition starts at RMB 220,800, compared to RMB 179,800 for the standard model.
The limited-edition variant comes standard with an all-wheel-drive system, exclusive black exterior styling, and other unique features.
Onvo L90 deliveries commenced on August 1st, with monthly deliveries of 10,575, 10,997, and 11,776 units in August, September, and October respectively, according to previously released data. November delivery figures for the L90 are not yet available.
Beyond the L90 Black Knight Edition, Onvo yesterday unveiled the Black Knight Edition of its first model, the L60. Officially launching tomorrow, it will be limited to 666 units.
Earlier today, Onvo said that display models of the L60 Black Knight Edition have arrived at stores across various cities, with deliveries commencing immediately upon tomorrow's launch.
Onvo has yet to disclose pricing for the L60 Black Knight Edition, though it is expected to exceed the standard model's price.
The L60 midsize SUV starts at RMB 206,900 including the battery pack. Under the BaaS plan, the starting price drops to RMB 149,900 with monthly battery rentals beginning at RMB 599.
