The name Livis echoes Jarvis, reflecting Li Auto's ambition to create a similar assistant. Edwin Jarvis is a fictional character in Marvel Comics' American comics, most frequently appearing as a supporting character in titles like Iron Man and The Avengers.

Weighing just 36 grams, Li Auto claims Livis is 20 percent lighter than typical industry products, enhancing wearing comfort.

The smart glasses offer 18.8 hours of battery life, featuring a charging case with wireless charging support and a Type-C power port.

Equipped with a Sony IMX681 image sensor, it boasts 12-megapixel resolution, capturing photos at 4032×3024 and supporting video recording up to 1440p @ 30fps.

Livis comes standard with Zeiss lenses and will leverage the German optical manufacturer's distribution channels for overseas sales.

The smart glasses enable voice control of Li Auto vehicle functions, including opening windows, adjusting air conditioning temperature, and checking remaining battery level.

The AI glasses allow users to wear Li Auto's Lixiang Tongxue virtual voice assistant on their heads, the company said.

Lixiang Tongxue is powered by Li Auto's Mind GPT, answering family queries, aiding creativity, and featuring a "Children Mode" for kids.

The Livis launch represents one of Li Auto's efforts to expand bet on AI. Li Auto founder, chairman, and CEO Li Xiang said last month that the product would be the company's best AI accessory.

Li Auto is also considering launching an AI speaker, aiming for broader coverage of its AI capabilities among Li Auto owners, he said in a video on November 25.

Li has said many times before that Li Auto aimed to become a globally leading AI company, believing vehicles will evolve from industrial-era transportation tools into spatial robots for the AI era.

Beyond Li Auto, several domestic Chinese tech giants are also betting on smart glasses as entry points for users to access their AI capabilities.

On November 27, e-commerce giant Alibaba launched its first in-house developed AI glasses, the Quark AI Glasses S1, with pre-sales starting at RMB 3,999 ($570).
