Denza has entered the Brazilian market, marking the latest expansion of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) premium brand's global footprint.
Denza showcased the Z9GT hatchback and D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) at the 2025 São Paulo auto show on November 25, according to a BYD announcement on Wednesday.
This marks a crucial step in Denza's internationalization strategy in Latin American, the company said.

Additionally, Denza will open its first showroom in Brazil in Avenida Europa in São Paulo, known as the local luxury car hub, BYD noted.
Over the past two years, the BYD brand has reshaped Brazil's perception of new energy vehicles (NEVs), and now the company aims to elevate industry standards in Brazil's luxury car market through Denza, said Alexandre Baldy, senior vice president and head of marketing and sales at BYD Brazil.
BYD emphasized that Denza's international expansion is accelerating. Following its entry into multiple Asian markets, the brand entered the European market this April.
Denza was established in February 2011 as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler, with each holding a 50 percent stake at the time. In February 2022, the Daimler brand was rebranded as Mercedes-Benz.
BYD increased its stake in Denza to 90 percent in 2022, while Mercedes-Benz's share decreased to 10 percent. Mercedes-Benz fully exited its Denza investment in September 2024.
Denza's current lineup includes the D9 MPV, Z9 series sedan, N9 SUV, N7 SUV, and N8L SUV.
Launched in August 2022, the D9 is the inaugural model under the new Denza brand and its primary sales driver.
Denza sold 10,135 units in October, marking a 5.99 percent year-on-year decline and an 18.31 percent month-on-month decrease, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The sales comprised 7,062 units of the D9 MPV, 1,574 units of the N9, 1,071 units of the N8L, 339 units of the Z9 series, and 89 units of the N7.
