
Changan Automobile's (SHE: 000625) sub-brand Nevo officially launched the updated Q05 small electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) on the first day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show today to compete against models including the BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Yuan Up.
The new Q05 is offered only in battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants, starting at RMB 79,900 ($11,230), positioning as one of China's most affordable compact electric SUVs.
Its dimensions measure 4,539 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,656 mm.
For comparison, the BYD Yuan Up measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.
The Q05 offers six battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants with a starting price range of RMB 79,900 to RMB 109,900.
The BYD Yuan Up currently ranges from RMB 74,800 to RMB 119,800.
The Q05 features a front motor with a maximum power output of 120 kW and peak torque of 190 Nm, supporting a top speed of 160 km/h.
The Q05 offers 40.3-kWh and 51.9-kWh battery pack options, delivering CLTC ranges of 405 km or 506 km.
Its two highest-priced variants feature LiDAR sensors for enhanced smart driving capabilities.
The SUV supports 3C fast charging, enabling 120 km of range with a 15-minute charge.
Nevo is Changan's new brand launched in August 2023. The brand's product lineup includes the A Series, Q Series, and E0 Series.
Nevo's current models include the A05, A07, Q05, Q07, E07, K50, and Lumin, covering sedan, SUV (sport utility vehicle), and pickup truck segments.
